Maya Universe Academy

Maya Universe Academy is a small, private school situated in the hills in a remote area of Nepal. It was started by a group of altruistic, young students who wanted to provide education to children who are too poor to afford regular public school classes.

Community Upliftment

Maya Universe Academy involves the whole community. The school has started various projects, such as the raising of poultry and bracelet making, to help the families of the students earn money.

The long term goal of Maya is to become completely self-sustainable. The food that is grown in the fields surrounding the school is used to feed the students of the school. We will also be involved in construction and agriculture projects to improve and develop the infrastructure at the school.

Class Time & Communal Eating

While we are at Maya, our students will spend time in classrooms with local students sharing ideas and experiences. This is a great opportunity for them to gain insight into the lives of Nepali kids.

All meals will be eaten in the communal dining room with the students, teachers and other volunteers. These are very social events with a lot of conversation and laughter.
